"Actors and Organizations as Cultural Forms in World Society"
The cultural roots of the modern global expansion in agentic human actorhood and in formal organizations are analyzed.  Special attention is given to science, human rights, and education. Implications for the cultural character of modern social organization in the state, economy, and civil society are discussed.
